Libya's interim Government of National Unity announced the start of construction of a temporary bridge linking the east and west of the city of Derna with a width of 21 meters.

The project is being implemented by the Man-Made River Project Implementation and Management Authority and the River Pipe Manufacturing Company, according to a government statement on Monday.

Storm Daniel caused severe damage to the infrastructure in the city of Derna, and the collapse of a 30-kilometer road network, according to the report of the Technical Committee for the Inventory of Damage formed by the Roads and Bridges Authority, issued on September 13.
