A Russian relief plane arrived at Benina International Airport in Benghazi in the early hours of Friday, carrying technical and medical equipment and rescue teams.

This is the first flight within a Russian airbridge to Libya, to help overcome the devestation of Storm Daniel, according to Russia Today.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously expressed his condolences to the head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, for the victims of the cyclone and floods caused by the storm.
