Libya's House of Representatives, during an emergency session held in Benghazi on Thursday, approved a budget of 10 billion dinars to address the effects of floods in areas affected by Storm Daniel that swept through eastern Libya, according to spokesman Abdullah Bliheg.
During the emergency session held under the chairmanship of Aguila Saleh, the House of Representatives discussed the repercussions of the disaster that hit a number of cities and resulted in the death, injury, loss and displacement of thousands.
Bliheg said in a statement that members began the session by standing for "a minute of silence" in mourning for the souls of those who died as a result of the devastating storm, before they began to discuss the "emergency budget law for this disaster."
