The High Council of State demanded on Sunday the quick publication of details from investigations into meeting of now sacked Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush and Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen.

This came during a consultative session held by the council in Tripoli in the presence of 48 members, to discuss the repercussions of Mangoush's meeting with the Israeli foreign minister, according to a statement on Sunday.

The Council ondemned the figures involved and called for a "stand against any measures that contradict the will of the Libyan people," stressing national constants and criminalizing contacts with "the Zionist entity according to the laws in force."

On Saturday, the Attorney General's Office announced the formation of a committee to investigate the meeting with Mangoush and Cohen, and the interrogation of those invited to the meeting.

After the meeting was revealed, Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba fired Mangoush and refered her to investigation. He also formed an investigation committee headed by the Minister of Justice and the membership of the Minister of Local Government and the Director of the Legal Affairs and Complaints Department, according to the text of Resolution No. 368 of 2023.

The committee fromed by Dabaiba was supposed report on the results of its work to the Prime Minister within a maximum period of three days, but this period has expired and the committee has not yet announced the results of its work.
