On Saturday, the head of Libya's interim Government of National Unity issued instructions to establish a security chamber to unify efforts within the municipality of Misrata and to circulate the model to other municipalities in the future.

This came during expanded an meeting led by Abdulhamid Dabaiba with Minister of Transport Mohammed Al-Shahoubi to follow up on the security situation in Misrata.

Dabaiba stressed that "the government pays great attention to extending security within the municipality of Misrata and all municipalities".

Dabaiba added that there is a need to "arrange efforts and coordination between the security services to avoid any security breaches, and to adopt a joint plan between the security agencies to be implemented at the municipal level."

The meeting was attended by the director of the Misrata Security Directorate, the mayor, members of the municipal council, city elders and a number of representatives of security and police agencies and military forces.
