Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba said that it is necessary to open the Ghadames,Deb-Deb border crossing with Algeria to travelers, after opening it for trade exchange, the customs authority said in a statement on Sunday.

Dabaiba visited the border crossing as well as the customs center of Ghadames on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting in the city on Thursday.

Dabaiba held a meeting with the security services, during which he stressed the need to open the port to passenger traffic as a second stage after opening it to trade exchange.

Last April, the Dabaiba discussed "the executive procedures for activating the Ghadames, Deb-Deb crossing, and a number of related economic files," with Algeria's ambassador to Libya, Suleiman Chenin.
