The Prime Minister for Libya's interim Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, said on Thursday he is closely following the acceleration of the situation in Niger, stressing his complete rejection of everything that undermines the stability of the region.

During his speech at the sixth regular cabinet meeting in Ghadames, Dabaiba stressed "support for the political legitimacy emanating from the elections" in Niger.

"We will do our duty on behalf of Libya towards Niger by standing with its people to avoid any deterioration of their living conditions. These are the morals of the noble Libyan people."
