The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, participated on Thursday in the activities of the Russia-Africa summit held in St. Petersburg, in the presence of a number of leaders from the African continent.

Menfi's participation at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the Presidential Council's media office.

On Wednesday, Russia's TASS news agency also confirmed Putin and Menfi would hold a meeting on the sidelines of the summit.
