The Prime Minister for Libya's interim Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, held talks on Sunday with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed on regional and international political developments, according to a statement by Dabaiba's media office.
The meeting on the sidelines of the International Conference on Development and Migration held in Rome, discussed ways to consolidate and strengthen relations and areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides valued the resumption of direct air traffic between Libya and the UAE, stressing the need to continue developing relations and enhancing prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Last February, the UAE president received Dabaiba in Abu Dhabi, stressing "the need to support international efforts to hold elections in Libya, and increase prospects for cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, gas and investment between the two countries," according to a statement at the time.
