Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba directed, on Sunday, the High Committee for the Supervision of Hajj to intensify the search for an elderly Libyan who went missing in Makkah during the pilgrimage.
In a letter addressed to the committee, Dabaiba called for urgent measures to be taken in coordination with the Libyan consulate in Jeddah and the Saudi authorities, calling on it to submit a daily report with updates to his office.
Hajja Barnia Misbah Al-Thabet went missing on Wednesday, June 14, next to the Anjum Hotel, when she was with her son where staying.
The son continues to search for her in the Makkah region and areas near the Holy Land in the hope of finding his mother.
Libya's General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs also formed a committee to search for the missing at security centers, shelters and hospitals in Makkah.
