Russia's ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aganin, affirmed his country's support for the Presidential Council's decision on "the formation of a High Financial Committee to regulate public expenditures and enhance transparency with the participation of all Libyan parties," and the need for "all proposed solutions to be exclusively of Libyan ownership," according to the Presidential Council's media office.

The Russian ambassador's confirmation came during his meeting with Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi on Wednesday in Tripoli.

The media office added that Ambassador Aganin renewed, during the meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin's invitation for Menfi to participate in the Russia-Africa summit scheduled to be held at the end of this month.

This is the second meeting between Menfi and Aganin since June 26, when the ambassador officially began his posting in Tripoli.
