The United States has provided a set of important ground equipment to Sebha airport in southwestern Libya, through the Agency for International Development (USAID), as part of the "Ten-Year Conflict Prevention and Stabilization Strategy" launched by the administration of President Joe Biden in March, which targets Libya and nine other countries worldwide.
The U.S. Embassy in Libya said in a statement that it celebrated Wednesday " through USAID, celebrated the equipping of the Sabha Airport with Libyan municipal government representatives, civil society representatives, and community leaders."
"As part of the 10-year Strategy to Prevent Conflict and Promote Stability in Libya, the United States provided significant ground equipment to load and unload baggage, vehicles to transport passengers, and an ambulance to the Sabha Airport to improve operations to better connect Libya’s southern region to the rest of the country", the U.S. embassy added.
"Southern Libya is the focal point of initial sequenced efforts under promote stability, which will incrementally build toward progress throughout Libya", the statement concluded.
