The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the start of maintenance work on the 220 kV power transmission line between Sirte and Ras Lanuf on Thursday.

The works include changing the insulators on a number of towers and the maintaining of wires by the Sustainable Energy Company under the supervision and follow-up of the General Administration of Energy Transmission, according to a company statement.

On Wednesday, the company indicated that the work of the Al-Hayra 11/30 kV power conversion station project continues under the supervision and follow-up of the Department of Al-Jafara Distribution Projects, in order to ensure the stability of the electrical network and improve its performance in the region.
