The Military Information Division for the General Command of the Libyan National Army announced the arrest of over 1,000 migrants of different nationalities in the town of Musaid on Libya's border with Egypt during a military operation.

The division added that the arrests come in addition to the discovery of a factory that produces wooden boats used for smuggling operations in Bir Al-Ashhab.

The division said in a statement that the arrested migrants were found dispersed in the farms and homes of the smugglers in Musaid.

The division indicated that the military operation included raids and a "massive campaign to comb the surrounding areas".
