The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Libya's interim Government of National Unity, Najla Mangoush, discussed strengthening cooperation between Libya and the Oman Sultanate on Monday during a visit to Muscat.

Mangoush held a bilateral meeting with Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr AlBusaidi to discuss ways to strengthen ties and joint bilateral relations between the countries, in addition to Arab and regional developments and cooperation between the State of Libya and the Sultanate of Oman in various fields, according to a statement.

During her stay in Muscat, Mangoush paid a visit to the National Museum and the Royal Opera House, where she expressed her "appreciation for the people of Oman, who were known for their friendliness and attachment to the issues of their nation."

She also "praised Oman's inspiring heritage" pointing to the depth of historical ties between the two countries.

Mangoush arrived in Muscat after official visits to Doha, Qatar and Manama, Bahrain.

She is scheduled to participate in the upcoming Arab summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 19.
