Libyan National Army Commander, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, discussed consolidating security cooperation, combating illegal migration and training programs for Libyan security services during a meeting with Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi during his visit to Rome.
According to a General Command statement, Piantedosi affirmed the need to strengthen relations between the two countries and work to address all the dangers facing the region.
The General Command added that Piantedosi "praised the great work being done" by the General Command forces.
Haftar arrived in Rome on Thursday and held a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni.
According to Italian media, Haftar "held talks with senior officials in the Italian government about migration and the situation in Sudan and the political process sponsored by the United Nations".
