Benghazi's Reconstruction and Stabilization Committee announced the stat of an overhaul of buildings in the Bouhdaima and Al-Kish neighborhoods of the city.
The overhaul will include the construction of parking lots and gardens, maintenance of public lighting networks for roads, maintenance of sidewalks and squares, updating sewage networks and the painting of facades, according to the media office of Benghazi Municipality.
On March 21, the committee announced the completed maintenance of '1015 buildings' in the Al-Salmani area under the same framework.
The head of the Reconstruction and Stability Committee, Hatem Al-Oraibi, announced on March 15 that the committee had begun to list the targeted projects in several areas, all the way to the Libyan-Egyptian borders in the Musaid region in the east and until Sirte in the west and to the south.
Al-Oraibi explained that the committee was previously concerned with the reconstruction of Benghazi but was then joined by the Derna Reconstruction Committee and will now service several regions.
He pointed out that the restoration operations include public housing, which have not been maintained since the 1970's.
