Libya's Government of National Unity said on Saturday that the notables from the cities of Zintan and Misrata stressed, during a meeting with Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba, "the need to involve Libyans in determining their fate through a referendum on the constitutional basis and their rejection of the transitional stages that will not bring the country to stability."

Dabaiba received the notables from the two cities at his home, in the presence of the interim Interior Minister Imad Trabelsi, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Haddad, and the Undersecretary for the Ministry of Local Government, according to a statement issued by the government’s media office.

The delegations from the two cities affirmed their thanks to the government for "the stability the country is experiencing," and their appreciation for the efforts made by the government towards the families of the martyrs and the missing, while praising the sacrifices of the homeland's men from the two cities and all Libyan cities towards the February 2011 revolution.

Dabaiba stressed that "all Libyan cities must be unified to bring our country to a stage of permanent stability through fair and fair elections."
