The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Thursday the arrival of containers loaded with equipment and spare parts supplied by the German company Siemens.

The company added in a statement that this equipment was transferred to the Western Mountain Power Station, Al-Ruwais, to be used in the major overhaul work carried out by Siemens on the first gas unit at the station.

GECOL indicated that this equipment is part of agreements concluded to carry out long-term maintenance of the generation units in efforts to support the electrical network and increase production capacity.
