Canada's Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard, praised the efforts of the High National Elections Commission in preparation for the elections, affirming her country's government's support for the efforts to conduct a vote in Libya.

This came during a meeting between Savard and her accompanying delegation at the Commission's office with Chairman Imad Al-Sayeh, within the framework of the international community's support for the political process in Libya, according to a statement issued on Thursday.

The meeting dealt with "the latest developments in the course of the electoral process, and the commission's readiness to fulfill its responsibilities to accomplish the upcoming benefits."

Earlier, the United States ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, also confirmed his country's support for the efforts of the High National Elections Commission during a meeting with Al-Sayeh.
