Libya's parliament-appointed prime minister, Fathi Bashagha, directed the immediate start of maintenance on the Boutraba water desalination plant, the main supplier of drinking water to Al-Marj.

This came after a meeting with his deputy and the head of the Emergency and Rapid Response Chamber, Ali Al-Qatrani, who briefed him on the results of his recent visit to the city.

Al-Qatrani's visit to Al-Marj came after a series of earthquakes hit the region.
