The head of Libya's interim Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, visited Istanbul and was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday.
Dabaiba's government said in a statement that the visit "aims to offer condolences to the Turkish presidency and people, and to express the Libyan people's solidarity with Turkey as a result of the earthquake."
His delegation included the governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddiq Al-Kabir.
The statement added that Erdogan expressed his appreciation for the Libyan people and the government for “standing with Turkey in this ordeal, and for sending Libyan relief and emergency support teams.”
The Turkish president stressed "the depth of the Libyan-Turkish relations and the solid positions between the two countries."
