Libyan Arab Armed Forces Commander, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received the British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, and the Commanding Officer of the Joint Expeditionary Force, General Jim Morris, on Tuesday.

The General Command published a statement saying the meeting took place at its Benghazi headquarters without revealing any details about the meeting.

On Monday, Haftar met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, and his accompanying delegation.

According to a tweet by Bathily, they discussed the current political, security and societal conditions in Libya, noting their agreement on the need for all parties to participate constructively and without delay in developing a constitutional framework to facilitate free, fair, and transparent elections in 2023.
