Iraq's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday it is following the case of an Iraqi female kidnapped in Libya, according to a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency.

The spokesperson for the foreign ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, said that the ministry is closely following up with the Libyan authorities to understand what happened to Dalia Farhoud, who was kidnapped from her home in Janzour on Wednesday.

Farhoud works in the fashion field and is also a content creator on social media, she has lived in Libya since 1998.

Libyan social media pages have circulated information that Farhoud has been detained by the 'Deterrence Force for Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime' on charges of publishing content that “is not appropriate for Libyan society.”
