Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh and High Council of State leader Khaled Al-Mishri issued a joint statement after meeting in Cairo on Thursday.

In the statement, the two parties agreed that the joint committee between their two councils would refer the constitutional document for approval in accordance with the system of each council.

They also agreed to set a clear and specific road map to be announced later, to complete all necessary procedures for the electoral process, whether related to the foundations and laws, or related to executive procedures, and the unification of institutions.

The joint statement thanked Egypt for hosting and providing the appropriate atmosphere for conducting the constitutional track talks that led to the agreement.

It also praised the role of international and local parties, led by the United Nations Support Mission to Libya.
