Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed his country's desire to work to consolidate and deepen relations of friendship and cooperation with Libya, for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.

This came in a written message received by Presidential Council Mohamed Menfi, according to a statement by the Council's media office on Wednesday.

This comes after Menfi delivered a speech before a meeting of the Arab League in Cairo on Tuesday, in which he said that Libya has witnessed accelerated steps in the comprehensive national reconciliation that is being supervised by the Presidential Council.
