Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed his country's and people's support for Libya so that the Libyan people can enjoy progress and prosperity.

This came in letter to Libyan Presidential Council Muhammad Menfi on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Libya's independence.

The Egyptian president praised "the depth of the fraternal and historical relationship that binds the two brotherly peoples," expressing his "aspiration to work together to strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations between Egypt and Libya in all fields in a way that achieves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples."
