The Public Prosecution announced the detention of the former Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Mission to the Czech Republic, on charges of misusing the powers of the position assigned to him for the purpose of achieving illegal benefits.

The Public Prosecutor's Office stated in a post on its Facebook page that it investigated incidents of administrative and financial abuse attributed to the official.

The office added it became clear to the investigator that the official deliberately misused the powers of the position assigned to him, for the purpose of achieving illegal benefits and spending hundreds of thousands in foreign exchange in violation of the rules and controls of money management.
