Kufra Airport announced on Monday the arrival of the first scheduled flights to the airport, indicating that the first flight belongs to Libyan Airlines, led by Captain Adel Hadour.
The airport administration called on the rest of the companies to “operate flights to and from this city, whose people have suffered difficulties in light of the deterioration of roads.”
On Saturday, Libyan Airlines announced the resumption of its flights from Benghazi to Kufra, at the rate of one flight per week, starting Monday.
The company said that this step comes as part of a plan to link the Libyan south with the north, east and west, and also aims to reduce the burdens of travel and movement through the desert on citizens.
