The International Criminal Court’s (ICC) chief prosecutor confirmed that he "obtained evidence related to violations committed by military forces" in Libya.

Karim Khan noted that during his visit to Libya this week, he met with Marshal Khalifa Haftar and his Military Prosecutor in the city of Benghazi, the Military Prosecutor in Tripoli, the Minister of Justice for the Government of National Unity, and head of the Presidential Council.

While addressing the UN Security Council on Wednesday, he said that what he saw in the city of Tarhuna was “heartbreaking", noting that there is a feeling of fatigue that all of this happened and that the international community and ICC are doing nothing, despite talk about justice.

Khan added, "One of the victims told me that we always hear about your court, but where are the results?"

Khan also confirmed that “the matter is not limited to Tarhuna,” adding that he had received many messages from different cities in Libya, noting that his team working there “continues to investigate Tripoli, Benghazi, Misrata and many other locations.”
