Hatem Hamida Bakir arrived at Tripoli's Mitiga International Airport on Tuesday evening, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Public Affairs for the Government of National Unity, Major General Mahmoud Saeed.

Bakir was the last member of the Libyan community to be evacuated from Ukraine, according to a statement by the Ministry of the Interior.

Government of National Unity Prime Minister  Abdulhamid Dabaiba had assigned Saeed the task of returning Bakir to Libya.

Ukrainian authorities agreed to deport Bakir after months of negotiations according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, which indicated that Bakir was arrested after participating in an altercation.
