The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Sunday the end of work on the Misrata emergency power station project and that it will soon enter the public grid with a production capacity of 650 megawatts.

The company added that it is also close to completing the Ubari-Fajeej power transmission line project, which will transfer electricity produced at the Ubari Gas Power project to the national grid.

The statement stressed that GECOL's board of directors seeks, with firm steps, to raise the efficiency of Libya's electricity network, through its continuous follow-up on new power production projects.
