Foreign Ministry: A number of wounded in Bent Bayya explosion transferred to Spain for treatment

On Wednesday, Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced that a number of individuals wounded in the Bent Bayya fuel tanker explosion have been transferred to Spanish hospitals for treatment.

In a post on its Facebook page, the ministry thanked the Embassy of Spain in Libya for the cooperation of Ambassador Javier Larrache, who it said made great and exceptional efforts to issue visas to a number of the wounded.

The ministry added that the process of transferring the wounded quickly to Spanish hospitals, also came in coordination with the Libyan ambassador to Spain, Walid Abu Abdullah.

On Tuesday, Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba said that coordination had been made to send the victims of the Bent Bayya explosion to Tunisia, Spain and Italy.

A number of the wounded also arrived at the Egyptian Armed Forces Hospital in Cairo.
