Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba said on Tuesday, that there has been coordination to send the victims of the Bent Bayya explosion to Tunisia, Spain and Italy for medical treatment.

This came during his visit to Burns and Plastic Surgery Hospital in Tripoli, accompanied by Minister of Health Ramadan Abu Janah, to meet with victims of the explosion.

Dabaiba listened to the patients and stressed that the Ministry of Health will monitor their conditions and dispatch those whose condition requires treatment abroad.

He also issued instructions to provide suitable accommodations for persons accompanying the patients.

The incident took place in the central town of Bent Bayya when a fuel tanker truck overturned before catching fire and exploding, the state-run Libya News agency reported.

The agency said residents in the area rushed to collect leaked gasoline despite warnings of possible fire and explosion, causing the high casualty tolls.
