China has called on the International Criminal Court to "respect Libya's sovereignty" and ensure "stability in Libya."
This came in a speech by the representative of China before the UN Security Council during its session to discuss the developments in Libya, on Thursday.
He stressed that "the differences between the Libyan parties have increased, and the fragility of the political process has become clear," calling on all parties to "remain calm and exercise restraint."
He called for the need to "preserve the ceasefire and overcome differences related to the government's legitimacy through consultation and dialogue, and to calm the conditions for holding elections as soon as possible."
