The Tawergha Education Monitor decided to suspend school in the city for two days, due to the high temperatures affecting most Libyan cities and regions.
The monitoring said in a statement that it suspended the studies on 23 and 24 June, in order to preserve the health and safety of teachers, and students at Tawergha educational institutions.
The Minister of Education Musa Mohammed Magariaf, gave education monitors discretion to suspend studies due to high temperatures on Tuesday. The ministry said in a statement that the decision comes "to protect our students and to preserve their safety". The "duration of the suspension should not exceed two days," added the ministry.
