Minister of economy and trade for Libya's national unity government Mohammed Al-Hweij confirmed that the ministry is working on implementing a number of investment projects in the city of Ghadames by inviting local and foreign private sector investors, in coordination with the General Authority for investment promotion and privatization to achieve economic development in the region.

The minister met Tuesday with the mayor of the municipality of Ghadames, Qasim Al-Mana, at the ministry's headquarters, discussing a number of economic issues and identifying development projects in the city, according to a press release issued by the ministry.

The meeting discussed ways to monitor the economy in the municipality, establishing ministry headquarters and the possibility of developing Ghadames airport.
