African Airways announced the launch of the first test flight between Al-Kufra and Benghazi's Benina airport after a hiatus of several years.

The company said in a statement today, the trip came after several meetings conducted by the director of the eastern region, Abdul Rahman Zaid, with a number of officials of the municipality of Al-Kufra.

They explained that the flight was carrying on board a committee that includes the director of commercial and ground operations at the company, Ismail Al-Saadawi, the head of the commercial and ground operations department in the eastern region, Sufyan Haftar, a committee formed by the Airports Authority and a number of engineers and employees from the company.

The test flight was agreed to on March 13, after the director of Afriqiyah Airways in the eastern region reached an agreement with the mayor of Al-Kufra and a number of members of the city's council of elders.
