NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed NATO's concern about the "increasing Russian role" in the Mediterranean region, especially in Libya.

Stoltenberg pointed out that NATO officials "are constantly discussing the growing Russian role in the Mediterranean at various levels, not only in Syria, but also in Libya," commenting: "What is happening in Libya directly affects our security," according to the Italian news agency Aki.

Stoltenberg made the remarks during a press conference on Tuesday, in Brussels, on the eve of the NATO defense ministers' meeting, in which he described the field situation in Libya as "dangerous and changing", expressing concern after the discovery of mass graves in the northwest of the country, and indicated the intention of the United Nations "to launch an investigation to highlight For what happened. ”

Stoltenberg reaffirmed the need to return to work for a political agreement in Libya under the banner of the United Nations.
