The President of South Africa and the current President of the African Union, Cyril Ramaphosa, said that he "favors the new UN envoy to Libya be from Africa." Stressing that achieving peace in Libya is one of the priorities of his duties as President of the African Union and promising to visit Libya during the coming period, according to a statement from the Government of National Accord.

This came during talks with Libya Presidential Council leader, Fayez Al-Sarraj, who was received on Tuesday in Pretoria, the political capital of South Africa.
