The head of the Libyan National Army, Marshall Khalifa Haftar, is expected to arrive in the Italian capital of Rome, on Thursday.

According to the Italian news agency, ADI, it is unclear who Hafter would meet with or whether a new meeting between Hafter and the Government of National Accord Prime Minister Fayez Al Serraj was being sought by the Italians.

Al Serraj met with officials of both the EU and NATO today in the Belgian Capital of Brussels.
