NATO renews its readiness to help build Libyan security institutions

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced his organization's readiness to train Libyan military forces or units.

Stoltenberg said in a press conference following the NATO defense ministers' meeting in Brussels that his organization, in the framework of the dialogue with Libya, does not offer Libyan training, but is ready to help Libya rebuild and rehabilitate its military and security institutions, specifically the Ministry of Defense and the security services. .

The Secretary-General of NATO pointed to the importance attached by NATO to the Naples Command Center, saying it is a key tool in the Alliance's handling of threats to the south.

NATO has not yet disclosed whether it will participate in the Sicily conference on Libya on November 12-13, Italian envoys have deliver invitations to many international and regional parties.
