Macron: We support the efforts of Al-Wefaq govt to restore stability in Tripoli

French President Emmanuel Macaron on Thursday condemned the the recent fighting in Tripoli in a telephone call with the President of the Presidential Council of the National Accord Government, Fayez al Sarraj.

In the call Macron offered his condolences to the civilian victims of the fighting that erupted in south Tripoli last week, stressing his support for the national reconciliation government and its measures to calm and restore security and stability to the capitol, according to the official Facebook page of The National Accord Government.

Macron reiterated his intention to continue to implement the outcome of the Paris meeting, and condemned parties looking to derail the democratic process.

Al Serraj thanked Macaron for his interest in stabilizing Libya.

Al Serraj pointed out that his government was working with all its capabilities to ensure the security and safety of citizens and called for a united front from the international community to help work towards a solution to the Libyan crisis, while holding accountable all those who endanger civilian lives.

Al Serraj reiterated his governments support for the Paris the political agreement and called on all parties to adhere to it.
