A fisherman in Tripoli discovered two clay jars suspected of being archaeological artifacts.
The sea washed the two items ashore to the fisherman’s net, and he handed them over to the Tripoli Seaport Police Station, according to a statement posted by the Port Security Directorate on its Facebook page yesterday, Thursday.
The statement noted that the jars, along with the official report, were handed over to the Tourist Police and Antiquities Protection Unit, which has jurisdiction over such matters.
