The Embassy of Italy in Libya announced that Italian archaeological missions visited archaeological sites in the city of Sabratha within the framework of supporting archaeological cooperation between Libya and Italy.

Missions from the universities of Macerata and Palermo inspected the fourth-century archaeological tomb discovered by Italian professor Antonino di Vita in 1972.

Sabratha is full of archaeological and historical sites dating back to the era of the Phoenicians and Greeks, as well as the Romans and Byzantines after them.
