A resident discovered the head of an ancient female statue on his farm north of the city of Shahhat and handed it over to the Antiquities Authority, which described his action as “reflecting a strong sense of national pride and a commitment to protecting our archaeological heritage.”

The Shahhat Antiquities Authority stated in a post on its Facebook page that citizen Al-Farjani Amadi took the initiative to hand over the artifact immediately upon finding it, noting that the head of the Authority’s Museums Department received the piece, after which the necessary procedures were carried out, and that it was placed in the Authority’s storage facilities in preparation for its scientific documentation and inclusion in the official registry of archaeological artifacts.

The Shahhat Antiquities Authority praised the citizen’s cooperation, expressing its thanks and appreciation for this initiative, and called on all citizens to report any archaeological discoveries and hand them over to the competent authorities to preserve the country’s cultural and historical heritage.
