The 29th International Autumn Tourism Festival began in Hun with the slogan “Extended Authenticity and Renewed Creativity”.
The festival's opening event was the launch of exhibitions at the city museum, showcasing ancient artefacts, palm tree products, photographs, books and manuscripts, as well as the “Autumn Bazaar”.
On Friday evening, the official launch of the festival will be announced at the Al-Fawara Park Theatre through performances by folk art troupes, horsemen in traditional costumes and children singing traditional folk melodies. This will be followed by a segment on the folk weddings.
The festival programme includes the Autumn Cultural Festival, which usually features cultural seminars on traditional costumes and folk handicrafts, as well as their importance in supporting families and the local economy. There will also be displays of folk crafts in Hun, and visitors will be able to take a tour of the Barqos House of Folk Heritage.
There will also be poetry evenings, film screenings for cinema enthusiasts, theatrical performances by the Hun Theatre Troupe and displays of traditional folk costumes, including bridal attire, as well as wedding celebrations. There will be performances by the Hun Media youth group and the Hun Folk Arts Troupe, and the Autumn Rally will feature desert car racing.
