The Interior Ministry for Libya's interim Government of National Unity announced on Sunday the arrest of 7 people in possession of artifacts and attempting to sell them.
The ministry said that the Attorney General's office assigned the Information and Security Follow-up Office to collect information about an individual in possession of antiquities, the investigation and his subsequent arrest led to a confession that he received the items from a network of six other individuals. The six were then also arrested.
The ministry confirmed that all legal measures were taken against the accused and the items seized.
