The Ministry of the Interior for Libya's interim Government of National Unity announced the discovery of an ancient Roman cemetery in the city of Zliten on Wednesday.

The ministry indicated in a statement that the Zliten Tourist Police and Antiquities Protection Office are studying the archaeological site while accompanied by an expert from the Zliten Antiquities Office.

It added that human remains and small dishes were found during the examination.
