The Ministry of Health for the government appointed by the House of Representatives, headed by Osama Hammad, announced on Sunday, that House Speaker Aguila Saleh had approved a proposal to raise the salaries of health sector workers by 75 percent, noting that “this measure is part of the General Leadership’s Vision 2030, which aims to improve the services provided to citizens.”

The ministry said on its Facebook page that the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Abdulsalam Aguila, had prepared a proposal to raise the salaries of healthcare workers in recognition of their efforts in serving citizens and to promote the stability of the healthcare workforce, and that “part of efforts to support the health sector and improve its performance, and in accordance with the instructions of the Deputy Commander of the General Command, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar.”

The ministry confirmed that “Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguila Saleh approved the proposal to raise the salaries of healthcare workers in line with those in other sectors, pursuant to the provisions of Law No. (18) of 2023, which mandates a 75% increase in the monetary value of salaries, in a move that reflects the House of Representatives’ commitment to supporting healthcare personnel and recognizing their national role.”

General Leadership Vision 2030

The Ministry clarified that “ this measure is part of the General Leadership Vision 2030, which aims to develop services provided to citizens, foremost among them the health sector, and is in line with the government’s directives to recognize the significant efforts made by health sector workers—including medical staff, allied health professionals, and administrative personnel—and to motivate them to continue their service and improve the quality of health services” .

It added that this proposal “is one of the pillars of the reform plans being implemented by the Ministry of Health with the aim of improving workers’ conditions, increasing the efficiency of the health sector, and enhancing the quality of medical services provided to citizens throughout the country.”
